A fast-paced luxury trip covering Luxor's West Bank, the Nile valley temples and Aswan in three days, with two nights in a 5-star Aswan hotel and a visit to Abu Simbel.
An early start takes you to Luxor's West Bank, where you visit three royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings, the terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Then drive south along the Nile to Edfu and its Temple of Horus, the best-preserved temple in Egypt. After lunch, continue to the double temple of Sobek and Horus at Kom Ombo, and arrive in Aswan in the evening to check in to your 5-star hotel.
After breakfast, visit the Aswan High Dam, with views over Lake Nasser, and take a motorboat to Philae and the Temple of Isis on Agilkia Island. Then travel about 280 kilometres south through the desert to Abu Simbel, where Ramesses II carved two great temples into the mountainside, one for himself and one for his queen, Nefertari. Return to Aswan for your second night in a 5-star hotel.
Enjoy a relaxed final morning. Optional extras include the Nubian Museum, the Unfinished Obelisk in the ancient granite quarries, or a felucca sail between Aswan's granite islands to the Botanical Garden. Then check out and transfer to Aswan airport, the train station or your next destination.
