See everyday Aswan from a traditional horse carriage, winding through the old lanes and the busy souk with a local guide.
Your guide and a traditional horse-drawn carriage meet you at your Aswan hotel or at your cruise ship's dock on the Corniche. Settle into the open carriage and enjoy the breeze off the Nile as you set off along the riverside, with views of the feluccas, Elephantine Island and the golden dunes of the West Bank.
Turn inland into the narrow back streets of old Aswan, where daily life carries on much as it has for generations. Stop at El-Tabia Mosque, one of the city's landmark mosques (visits are arranged outside prayer times), then ride into the Aswan souk, one of the liveliest markets in Egypt, full of spices, hibiscus, dates, Nubian baskets and scarves. There is time to browse before your carriage takes you back to your hotel.
