Sail north from Aswan to Luxor on a Nile cruise, with full board and a guide on board, stopping at the temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu and finishing on Luxor's West Bank.
Board your Nile cruise in Aswan before lunch and meet your Egyptologist, who stays with you for the whole trip. In the afternoon, visit the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk in the ancient granite quarries, and Philae Temple on Agilkia Island by motorboat. Back on board, the ship sets sail north to Kom Ombo, where you can visit the double temple of Sobek and Horus in the evening. Dinner and the night are on board.
After breakfast, explore the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the best-preserved temple in Egypt, reached by horse carriage from the river bank. Return to the ship for lunch and a relaxing afternoon on the sun deck as you cruise past villages, palm groves and farmland, one of the most peaceful ways to see the Nile valley. In the evening the ship passes through the lock at Esna, then continues to Luxor, where you spend the night on board.
After breakfast, disembark and cross to Luxor's West Bank for a guided tour of the Valley of the Kings, with entry to three royal tombs, the terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Your tour ends with a transfer to your hotel, Luxor airport or the train station. All meals on board from lunch on day one to breakfast on day three are included.
